About The Criterion Theatre

Known as the ‘hidden treasure’ of London’s West End, the Criterion theatre is just that. Tucked away underground on the world-famous Piccadilly Circus, it would be impossible to find if it weren’t for the beautiful signage that points audiences in the right direction. The Criterion is located almost entirely below surface level, but a cold, concrete bunker it is not! The décor wouldn’t feel out of place in one of London’s most luxurious hotels and its incredibly central location always proves a popular spot with tourists and locals alike.

A brazen fast-paced fever dream!
We came into this show with no context on a recommendation from a friend and it was more than we could have ever hoped for. The casting was perfect and the plot is a wild twist on the portrayal of a popular historical event and movie seen through the eyes of an exaggerated Celine Dion. It's highly tongue-in-cheek with adult themes, so not for the under-18 crowd. Overall I'd recommend it to anyone who has seen the movie and is a fan of musicals in general as it mixes tropes and themes from other sources.

Laugh out loud funny
We’ve seen numerous West End shows and this is the first one we’ve booked without knowing much about it, other than the movie it’s based on. After all, how do you make a musical out of such a tragic event? Well, Titanique nails it! The songs, accents and singing are excellent, the comedy is relevant and perfectly timed, (…as well as ad-libbed!), and there is something in it for everyone. This show is definitely no sinking ship and should have plenty of sea-legs. Don’t miss out! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
